This happened with me.....
"Indore" Now most of know this place. This is the geographic center of India. I never had any special bond with this place nor it is I have it today. I never knew anything about this place except for its location and name as I have couple of friends. Lately I had been fighting if Pune is better or Indore is better. This actually made me eager to know more about this place. And I feel its really a nice place though I would never accept it is better than Pune, as Pune being my home land.
I got to know that Indore is one of the place in history which was under the rule of a woman, Ahilyabai Holkar. This place has one of the beautiful historic monuments like Lal Bagh Palace.Apart from history, this place being geographic center, this place is also very important for trading being in the center of India. This started with textile trading. Now Indore has variety of industries right from Automobile to Pharmaceuticals to refineries.
In terms of education, then this is the only city which has IIM and IIT both. Apart from this it has got other good educational centers too."Pohe" are made in more better way in Indore than in Maharashtra. It has variety of food items ranging from namkeens to chats to main course. This place has actually started the concept of private radio channels like Radio Mrichi which then spread all over India. There are so many things which this city holds in its heart. This place actually has got many trivia let it be from Guinness World record for biggest tea party or the gates of Lal Bagh being same as Buckingham Palace or the biggest bat. This has the best BRT services in whole of India. So many things to actually list down. Actually this place is also know as "Mini Mumbai"
I actually have started liking this place though I have never visited it. I intend to see this. Actually the jealousy of Indore being compared with Pune got me to know about this place.
Has anything like this happened to you, that you didn't wanted to accept if it was good but you found out it to be really nice. I do accept it is a city, a beautiful city, because I used to think its still a village though not better than Pune.
