Boost your own Self Esteem

Lately, I had read something which Chetan Bhagat had written about boys who endlessly try to impress their girl friends and girls who wait till eternity for their boyfriend’s call. I really feel this is so many dolts. Why people only have to speak about their better half’s all the time.

It was fun being with friends who had versatile topics to discuss right from the recipes to dress design to business changes. But in due course of time thing have been changing, I don’t know for good or bad. Whenever we used to be out we had loads of fun. It was as if we were not in this world. We actually shared and discussed many things. It felt as if we all had dreams to aspire or may be were on same plane. But slowly things started changing. Everyone’s marriage was fixed.

After that, the only things discussed were dress design or the marriage vows. For almost a year only this topic was prevailing in the discussions. The remaining was about the shopping. At least 10 times in a day this discussed came up. It used to be really boring or irritating to hear that. I was not jealous or feeling bad that everyone else marriage was fixed. But it was really dishearting for me to see that their fulcrum has drastically shifted only to relationships. There was nothing else they could think about. I was also uneasy by the cuddling or feeding done to their better half’s. Is this what happens your marriage is fixed or your have boyfriend? And the bad part was that no one every realised that their act was actually annoying me. They were all just lost in a life which I never liked.

I never shared these things and I slowly started isolating myself. But my question still remains that is it a life to rotate only around relationships. One can have relationships and still have their own identity. The topics of discussions can still vary from business to sports to politics. This is like completely losing oneself for something which is actually not required. One can boost their self esteem which no lover can do. Even the better half would be happy to have a intelligent wife than just a trophy wife to take along with. One should never lose focus in life. People should look around and know about the world or the happenings in every cadre of society. How come people are not bored about speaking about only one thing day after day? I am thoroughly astonish by such behaviors.
